449 Mt Eden Road, Mt Eden
We are a Methodist Church situated in the village shopping centre of Mt Eden, Auckland. The church has been established since 1899 and is on the corner of Ngauruhoe and Mt Eden Roads.
The Mt Eden Church is a congregation of the Auckland Methodist Central Parish and a part of the Methodist Church of New Zealand.
As Methodists we understand four calls on our lives:
Call to worship Call to learn and care Call to service Call to share the good news of Jesus Christ – evangelism
What do we understand? “In this familiar place I know the mysteries of your grace, for the love that I receive, for the truth that I believe, I praise and thank you for this here and now.” Colin Gibson
Sunday worship begins at 10 am.
The Fiji-Indian Fellowship provides a monthly worship service in Hindi each month, on the third Sunday of the month at 3 pm.
Fiji-Indian Fellowship
Brief History The Fiji-Indian Fellowship started in 1988 after the arrival in New Zealand of Indo-Fijians due to the Fijian military coups in May 1987 and September 1987. The Fellowship had its first service in February 1988. The Fellowship provided support and encouragement to Indo-Fijians . The Fellowship’s first co-ordinator was the late Mr John Sami and was ably supported by the late Rev Ted Grounds. The first service was held at Dominion Road Methodist Church and later services were moved to Mt Eden Methodist Church. Currently the services are held on the 3rd Sunday of every month, except January. The service starts at 3 pm and there is fellowship over a cup of tea after the service. The current Coordinator is Mr Owen Rao (contact phone no: 09 527 1571/ 021 02330154) Apart from the regular services, the Fellowship is involved in bible study, prayer meetings, blessing services, pastoral care support etc. The logo for the fellowship is below:
